This powerful exploration of Palm Sunday takes us beyond the familiar scene of waving palm branches to reveal three profound truths about encountering Jesus. Through the narrative of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we discover that when Jesus comes near, obedience is required, His kingship is revealed, and a personal decision must be made. What stands out remarkably is the obedience of those unnamed disciples who simply did as Jesus instructed, the generosity of the donkey's owner who surrendered his valuable possession without question, and even the wild, unbroken donkey who willingly yielded to Christ. These examples challenge us to move in obedience before understanding arrives, trusting that God has earned our confidence through His proven faithfulness. The message confronts our modern tendency to pick and choose which parts of the gospel we accept, reminding us that Jesus isn't just a good teacher or prophet—He is the King of Kings who entered Jerusalem as the Prince of Peace. This wasn't a king coming to conquer by force, but the rightful heir coming to reconcile humanity to God through the cross. The most sobering truth is that neutrality isn't an option when we encounter Christ. We cannot walk away unchanged. Like the crowd that day who had to answer 'Who is this?', we too must make our personal decision about Jesus, knowing that one day we'll stand alone before God's throne and answer for what we did with Him.
